What are FODMAPs?
FODMAPs are certain types of carbohydrates that may not be completely digested by people with IBS. They're found in many healthy foods like apples, wheat bread, onions, and milk. These carbs ferment in the large intestine leading to symptoms like bloating, constipation and diarrhea.
But wait, there's good news!
Research shows that identifying your personal tolerance level for the different types of FODMAPs and reducing your intake of these problem foods can improve IBS symptoms in the majority of people.
